Kanakia beach in Salamina is a relatively remote beach and to reach it you have to go through a wonderful path through the forest with awesome views. The beach is marvellous with crystal clear water and very beautiful natural environment.

 

 

 
The Monastery of Agios Nikolaos "Lemonia" is located in the forest on the western slope of the mountain "Stavros" on the way to the beach of Kanakia. Next to it there is the temple of St. John of Calyvitis. The interior of the temple is simply decorated. The dome has works by Nikolaos Andrianos, son and pupil of Salamis hagiographer Dimitrios Andrianos.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Kanakia Forest is also ideal for mountain biking on both a racing and amateur level, depending on the rider's requirements. You can also come as a spectator to watch world class matches and athletes. The Kanakia region,is probably the largest oxygen lung for Attica.
