Euripides Cave

The cave is located near Ormos Peristeria, one of the best moorings in the southernmost part of Salamis. Completely invisible off the coast, at an altitude of 115 meters above sea level. The natural plateau of its entrance, on a plane between the sky and the earth, offers stunning views of the Saronic Sea.

From the research and the findings, the cave functioned during different periods of Greek Prehistory and history. Impressive are the exhibits from the Cave of Euripides, which was the secret sanctuary of the great tragedy writer, such as the marble figurine of the Cycladic ancestor and a vessel bearing the inscription of his name.
